UPA 192

The UPA192 is a tri-amping mono block in one housing. Three amplifiers with 160W, 80W and 20W are incorporated besides the active crossover achieved by DSP technology operating non-compromised phase-linear filters. Active room correction can be applied. The binding posts are placed on the front all the other connections are placed on the rear below the large upright passive cooler.

The UPA192 can be fed by any digital stereo signal or by an analog mono high level signal. Its multi functional input sockets allow all common connectors to be used, optical and electrical, balanced and unbalanced in analog and digital domain.

It can be cascaded as often as desired to expand for more than three channels per side. The most important setting for operation could be done at the dip-switch on the rear.

Gentle

The Gentle is available in three versions:

1) Media Player

The version Media-Player only has, of course, no power amplifiers, and for this reason, no binding posts. The same is true with the Cinch connectors.  Those appear when the unit is converted to a pre-amplifier. Still remaining from a pre-amplifier are the four Toslink inputs. Those are on the Audio-Processor-Board on a regular basis, and are fully functional. The Toslink output is for the Media-Player- “the gate to the world”. All the audio data to be processed by other electronics come from here in optical domain.

2) Pre-Amplifier

In contrast to the Media-Player, the Pre-Amplifier contains four Cinch connectors minimum, on the rear.  In case there are only those four, two of them handle digital electrical signals (2x SPDIF) and the other two act as an analog stereo input. The Toslink output still remains “the gate to the world”.  In case there are eight Cinch connectors, in addition, six of them give three analog inputs. The remaining two have a very important meaning to most users: this analog stereo output (AUX-DAC) feeds all the analog or digital input, and digitally processed data D to A converted. They carry high level signals scaled. Scaled means that they have volume influence, and are dedicated to modulating analog power amplifiers. This Pre-Amplifier does not necessarily contain the Media-Player, but of course it’s possible to be up-graded, depending on the option, possibly without hardware intervention.

The Media-Player and the Pre-Amplifier can be expanded to a higher version at any time.

3) Integrated Amplifier

For sure, the Integrated Amplifier has power amplifiers included in the same housing as well as binding posts. It is always a pre-amplifier at the same time, which is why it always offers the selected input signal on the Toslink output, regardless of whether the source is analog or digital from external, or if it is the contained Media-Player.  Also, the Integrated Amplifier does not necessarily contain the Media-Player, and can be up-graded. And if analog or additional electrical SPDIF inputs are present, this is only a matter of choice.

LOUDSPEAKERS

Tanara

The Behold Tanara floor standing loudspeaker offers an extraordinary performance together with the behold Gentle G192. The modest design does not show any driver.

Containing 3-ways, it is party active driven (bi-amping). The internal double-bass concept reduces vibrations to an absolute minimum. Away hidden spikes offer a high isolation to ground and exact alignment.

Atacama

The Behold Atacama floor standing loudspeaker reaches the limits of what is technically possible from a loudspeaker. Tri-amplified internally with Class A amplification, an active DSP-based crossover, amplitude, phase and time aligned, and with an option for room correction, the Atacama achieves performance otherwise impossible with passive designs.

Physically, the Atacama was carefully designed so that every feature has a purpose. This minimalist approach achieves a perfect balance between simplicity and elegance, enabling it to fit into any décor.

Tatanka

The Behold Tatanka floor standing loudspeaker acts as if it can overrule the limits of what is technically possible by a loudspeaker. Tri-amplified internally with Class A amplification, an active DSP-based crossover, amplitude, phase and time aligned, and with an option for room correction, the Tatanka achieves performance otherwise impossible with passive designs.

Physically, the Tatanka was carefully designed so that every feature has a purpose. The no longer minimalist approach achieves an extreme speed in the mid and high range due to 12cm drivers and an excellent Air-Motion-Transformer. Vibrations are cut to an absolute minimum by using two 26cm drivers compensating them. The extravagant assembly of the mid-high-range cabinet together with the minimalist appearance of the bass cabinet results in elegance, enabling it to fit into any décor.
